VERMILLION January 30, 1923 - December 9, 2008STARR, SCMrs. Marie Evans Vermillion, age 85, of 204 Englewood Circle, wife of the late Carl E. Vermillion, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at her residence.Born in Danburg, GA on January 30, 1923, Mrs. Vermillion was a daughter of the late John S. Evans and Myrtice Gunter Evans. She was a loving mother and homemaker and worked several years in Abney Southside Mill. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church where she worked for several years with the Southside Baptist Church Day Care. She was also a member of the church choir.Survivors include her son, Carl Vermillion, Jr., and his wife, Jackie; daughter, Kay Vermillion Daily; sisters, Opal Barrett and Bobbie Fowler, all of Anderson and Grace Bunch of Fortsonia, GA; seven grandchildren, Mark, Matt, Charlie and Brittany Vermillion and Wendy Kelley, Julie Brewster and Brooke Davis and ten great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Bruce Collier Vermillion; brothers, Sid, James, Dono, and Will Evans.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Southside Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Phil McAlister. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mrs. Vermillion will be placed in the church at 2:00 pm on Friday.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
