Marilyn Ruth Haynes Moats, age 82, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 18, 2026, at home.

Born September 8, 1943, in Salem, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Grover Haynes and Helen Elmyra Brown Haynes. She was married to William H. Moats until his death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Shelby Ann Porter.

Marilyn was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Melisa M. Carr (Dale) of Anderson, SC, and Sharon Denise Frutos (DeRew) of Canyon Country, CA; brothers, Lony Haynes of Anderson, SC, James B. "Jack" Haynes (Peggy) of Anderson, SC, and Harvey Haynes (April) of Pendleton, SC; sisters, Elmyra Standridge (Fred) of Anderson, SC, Lutricia Willimon (Louie) of Easley, SC, Lynn Dunlap (Hal) of Seneca, SC, and Lavern Crews of Anderson, SC; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Brian Crowther officiating.
