Marilyn Pittman Shedd, of Anderson, SC passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at AnMed Medical Center.

Marilyn was born October 28, 1944, in Travelers Rest, SC. She was a daughter of the late Amos Pittman and the late Lillian Edgar Pittman. She was married to Donnie Ray Shedd for forty years until his death in 2003.

She was employed by Tag and Label Company in Anderson, SC for ten years. Marilyn was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. Marilyn was a voracious reader, loved all animals, and lead a quiet life. She was a devout Christian, loving her Savior first, her church, and her family.

Marilyn leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Cox; son, Donnie Shedd; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, all of Anderson, SC; brother, David Pittman (Alice) of Marietta, SC; sister, Carolyn Hall Jordan of Anderson, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marilyn was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Pittman.

The family will visit with family and friends on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at The McDougald Funeral Home from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the Chapel. Rev. Dr. Brent Lollis will officiate. Marilyn will be laid to rest by her husband at Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.
