Marion Horn Ellis, of Anderson, SC, devoted wife of E.P. Ellis Jr., MD, and loving mom of four children went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Born in Winston Salem, NC, on July 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Claude Revere and Louise Cooper Horn. She grew up in the town of Mocksville, NC, and was a graduate of Wake Forest College.
Marion was a medical technologist at AnMed Health Medical Center and a member of Boulevard Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, tutor to internationals in English and Reading, and also served as a deacon. She was a charter member of the Anderson County Women's Club and served twice as president of the Garden Trail Garden Club.
Marion will be remembered for her devotion to Christ, selfless love of others, sweet spirit, gardening, and pumpkin pies.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Claude R. Horn of Winston Salem, NC; son, James Michael Ellis (Kathleen) of Myersville, MD; daughter, Lynn E. Watson (Mark) of Niceville, FL; son, John Stephen Ellis (Julie) of Orlando, FL; and son, Mark Edward Ellis (Dee Ann) of Charlotte, NC.
Marion cherished her eleven grandchildren: Brittany Coffman and Anthony Nottingham; Katherine Andereck, Matt, and Andrew Watson; Nicolas, Ian, Anna, and Eric Ellis; Haley Appleby and Meredith Ellis; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service service will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Boulevard Baptist Church. The memorial service will be available to view via the livestream on the church's website at https://www.boulevardbaptist.com/funerals. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
