Marlena Mae Holley Allen, age 79, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, March, 9, 2022. She was affectionately known to most as "Mema". Born October 20, 1942, in Belton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Wilton H. Holley and Myrtis Leola McKee Holley. Marlena worked as a cloth inspector for Orr-Lyons Mill for 34 years and retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a faithful member of Living Truth Church. She was active in church work and was well-respected for her opinion and advice to others. Marlena was a strong, compassionate, and caring woman. She loved the Lord, her family, her pets and her friends with her whole heart. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, Rev. Ace Lee Allen; daughter, Myrtis Lovouraha Martin; and granddaughters raised in the home, Elaina "Angel" Jones and Angela "Joy" Durham. Other family members surviving Mrs. Allen include Daniel Adam Martin, Kyle Timothy Martin, Bobby Lee Allen, Ronald Allen, James Allen, Terry Allen, and Calvin Allen; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins. All were special to her in their own way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred Meredith Holley, John Thomas Holley; and sisters, Barbara Lee Bishop and Joan Scott. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Grady Turner, Jr. and Rev. David Peeks officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
