IVA, SC - Mr. Marshall Orr Bryant, age 68, husband of the late Joan Kirby Bryant and lifelong resident of Iva, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009, at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Iva, SC, on July 11, 1941, he was a son of the late Amos Bryant and Macie McGill Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a graduate of Crescent High School and retired from Clark-Schwebel Manufacturing.Survivors include his children: a son, Gary Bryant and wife, Donna of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Amy Elgin and husband, Wilson of Monetta, SC; seven grandchildren: Amanda, Meagan, & Dylan Bryant, all of Anderson, SC, and Joshua, Emily, Sarah, & Luke Elgin, all of Monetta, SC. Also surviving are four sisters: Frances Gloss of Toccoa, GA, Doris Smith of Heath Springs, SC, Lynette Melchoir of Englewood, FL, and Barbara McCurry of Iva, SC; and four brothers: Leon Bryant of Elberton, GA, Otis Bryant of Iva, SC, Ronald Bryant of Iva, SC, and Mike Bryant of Elberton, GA.The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1 pm on Monday, August 10, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Ronnie Collins.
