Marshall Whitworth, age 67, of 301 Glenn Street, passed away at AnMed Health Medical Center on Friday, June 24, 2016. Born on September 21, 1948, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Charles R. Whitworth and the late Ruth O'Dell Pelfrey Whitworth. A retired frame carpenter in the construction industry, Mr. Whitworth had a love and a passion for playing pool which he did with precision. Survivors include his wife, Katie Louise Starkey Whitworth of the residence; two sons, Marshall Dwayne Whitworth and his wife, Peggy, and William Bryan Whitworth both of Anderson; a daughter, Crystal Michelle Manry and her husband, Allan, of Iva; three brothers, Charles Whitworth and his wife, Ruby, George Whitworth, and Alvin Whitworth, all of Anderson; a sister, Formelia Gilstrap, of Belton; and ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Marshall was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Maddox. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, July 1, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A private service with family will be scheduled at a later time.
