Obituary

Martha Ann Sutton Clamp, age 76, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 at her home. Born in Bethlehem, PA on May 19, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Cole Benjamin Sutton, Jr. and the late Betty Finger Sutton. She attended Winthrop College and was a graduate of both Anderson College and Clemson University. She was a CPA until her retirement. Martha was a member of The Thalian Cotillion, The Revelers Club, The Anderson Rotary Club, and Perpetual Bank and Southbanc boards. She loved playing tennis, reading, traveling, and spending time at the beach. She was a member of the Cardinal Racquet Club in Anderson and Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island. She was a member of First Baptist Church and also attended Garden City Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jimmy Clamp; a daughter, Paula Ballentine (Charlie), of Anderson, SC; a son, John Clamp, of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Brooks Ballentine (Kelsie), of Pasadena, CA, Ben Ballentine, of Anderson, SC, Lauren Clamp, of Simpsonville, SC; and sisters, Pam Riordan, of Beaufort, SC, Mary Lee Mason, of Anderson, SC, and Peggy Page, of Hampton, SC. Martha and the family was appreciative of and wanted to thank Dr. Amanda Davis, Dr. David Griffin & Staff, and Interim HealthCare Hospice. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Jim Thomason officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Anderson, 307 S.
