Martha Jane Gentry, a life-long resident of Starr, South Carolina, passed away at her home. Born in Anderson County on April 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Alice Clayton Harris Gentry and the late Robert Moody Gentry, both of Starr. She was a graduate of Starr High School and Carolina School of Commerce (now Forrest College). She spent a career in administrative work and was formerly employed as secretary-bookkeeper at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. She was a member of Starr Baptist Church where she was active in church work and was a member of the Nita Dean Phileatha Sunday School Class. She was also a former member of the Twinkle City Senior Citizens Club. A graveside service at the Starr Baptist Church Cemetery will be conducted by the Rev. Tony Howell, on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may greet the family following the service.
