MARTHA LUCILLE LONG Martha Lucille Long, age 89, was promoted to Heaven upon her death on Friday, June 27, 2014, at Hosanna Health and Rehab in Piedmont, SC. Born on November 13, 1924, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late King Silas Tollison and the late Bessie Chandler Tollison. She was devoted to her Lord, a loving mother and grandmother, and a longtime member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Long leaves behind a son, Stanley Long and wife, Patricia, of Anderson; 2 daughters, Elizabeth Long Burgess and husband, Allan, and Sally Long Vasilas and husband, Philip, both of Anderson; 2 brothers Ralph Tollison of Anderson, and Harry Tollison and wife, Violet, of Fair Play; 3 sisters, Ruth, Jeroldine and Jessie Ann Tollison, all of Anderson; 7 grandchildren, Allan (Kirsten) and Heather Burgess, Nikki (Chad), Tabitha and Brittany Vasilas, and Michael and Brian Long, and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Long was preceded in death by a son, David Long; a granddaughter, Amanda Burgess Milloway; 3 brothers, Eugene, K.S., and Marvin Tollison; a sister, Jeanette McAlister; and a sister-in-law, Vivian Campbell Tollison. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Lucille Long will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
