Martha Rumsey McClellan, 85 of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Anderson, SC on January 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Melvin E. Rumsey, Sr., and Edna P. Rumsey. In December, 2020, she lost her husband of 69 years, Joe Olin McClellan. She was a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church. Martha was a loving mother, and Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Vickie Williams (Bob), Joel McClellan (Robbie), Gary McClellan (Samantha) and Rachel Mullinax (Ken); grandchildren, Ashley Adkins (Jake), Kendal Gorsline (Ben) and Timothy McClellan; and great-grandchildren, Kelsea Adkins, and Jameson Olin Gorsline. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 3 brothers. Martha was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Viewing will be on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 10 am - 10:45 am at New Prospect Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Guy Roberts and Rev. Dr. Steve Silvey with burial in the church cemetery. The family will be available to speak with friends and family at the cemetery.
