Martha O'Neal McGee passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Anderson, SC on August 21, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John Patrick O'Neal Sr., and the late Beulah McClure O'Neal Starbuck. She received an Associate's Degree from Anderson College. Martha retired from Anderson County Probate Court as a clerk and Associate Probate Judge. She worked as an administrative assistant for J.A. Few Tobbaco Co., Burgess Goodbrad Accounting, and Lambert and Yates. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Anderson Women's Club. She was also a member of AnMed Health Auxiliary where she served more than 2500 volunteer hours. Martha was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Anderson and the Blanche Holcombe Sunday School Class. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Lewis and her husband Gary, of Anderson, SC; two grandchildren, William "Howie" Lewis and Charles Kevin Lewis and his wife Veronda; and two great-grandchildren, Zane Lewis and Noah Lewis. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Earle" McGee; three brothers, Rudy O'Neal, Frank O'Neal, and John Pat O'Neal, Jr.; and her twin sister, Mary Polkinhorn. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. James Thomason officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service, on Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
