Martha H. Penninger Parks, 99, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at her home.

Born in Bowman, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Daniel Harris and Martha Mildred Hall Harris. Martha married Victor C. Penninger, where they resided in Anderson, South Carolina until his death in 1979. Martha then married Gene Parks until his passing in 1991. Martha then moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where she spent many days fishing off the pier and walking the beaches. Martha was fondly known by the nickname her father gave her, Sue, and MaP by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Martha will be remembered for her feisty charm, sincere honesty, and love for her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Dianne Manning (William "Bill"); grandson, Shanon Glenn Manning (Neile) and their children Seth and Taum Manning; granddaughter, Virginia Dawn Harbin (Westley) and their children Grace, Keyes, and Elliott Harbin; granddaughter, Kimberly Penninger and her daughter Katelyn Kincaid.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Parks; siblings, Dan Harris, Bob Harris, and Dora Brown; son, Victor Durwood Penninger and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Sexton Penninger.

A private family gathering will be held at The McDougald Funeral Home.
