She was the daughter of the late James Hoyt Miller and Eugenia H. Miller Saylors. She was a lifelong homemaker and devoted to her life and family. She was a loving wife of fifty-four years, a caring mother, and a devoted grandmother not only to her immediate family but her extended family as well. She loved life and made it better for all who knew her. On November 30, 1957, she married Charles W. Souther and started a partnership with him that would last over five decades. She had two children: Debbie Sue Souther Shaw and Charles Gregory Souther; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Souther; three grandchildren: Andrew and Emily Souther, and Souther Sue Shaw. She was also an extra mother and grandmother to many more especially Ashley and Amanda Saylors. Also surviving are brothers: James and Eugene Saylors; and sisters: Diane Fuller and Joyce Tannery; along with numerous nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters: Betty Miller Ellison and Lola Saylors Wicker; her daughter, Debbie Sue Shaw; her son-in-law, Gary Matthew Shaw; and her great niece, Ashley Saylors.The Funeral Service will be held at 4pm on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Royce Addis.
