Marvin Landers, age 80, passed away on January, 13, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC on May 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Landers and the late Deller Broome Landers. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked and retired as a grocery manager at Greens Grocery, then Bi-Lo, and worked a short time with Quality Foods. He is survived by his daughters, Marty Landers and Velvet Rice (Robbie), both of Anderson; a son, Ken Brown (Anne), of Anderson; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise McNeely Landers; sons, Johnny Mac Brown and Archie Brown; four brothers; and four sisters. The Graveside Service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, January 16, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Sam Duncan officiating. The family will be at the residence, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home, on Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, and memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
