February 14, 1940 - August 28, 2006STARR, SCMr. Marvin Leroy Simpson, Jr., age 66 of 212 Robinwood Circle, husband of the late Patricia Mitchell Nixon Simpson, died August 28, 2006 at his residence.Born in Hartwell, GA on February 14, 1940, Mr. Simpson was a son the late Marvin Leroy Simpson, Sr., and Ruth Bowen Simpson. He was a retired carpenter and owner of Simpson Builders. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Revelation Gospel Singers and the Unity Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Marty D. Simpson; a daughter, Sharon D. Holmes; step-children, Billy Nixon and Melinda Dooley, all of Starr; a brother, Jerry Simpson of Anderson; a sister, Barbara Posey of Easley, SC and four granddaughters.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, little Linda Simpson.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Pastor Rodney Yates.
