Mary Ann Wilson, 82, of Anderson, SC, wife of Judd Franklin Wilson, Jr., passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the home that she shared with her husband of 63 years. Born in Union County, SC, on June 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin Whitaker, Sr. and the late Annie Belle Charles Whitaker. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was an active member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Mary Ann worked at Duke Power Company from 1953-1963. From 1987-2000, she managed H&R Block franchise that was owned by she and her husband. In 2002, she opened her own tax service. Mary Ann was an amazing lady whose determination and positive attitude, while exemplifying grace and dignity during her illness, was an inspiration to those who knew her. She loved people, was a devoted friend and had a caring, generous heart. Her ultimate joy in life was giving to others. She was the epitome of selflessness. Survivors, in addition to her loving husband of the home, are her daughter, Joanne Wilson Brady and her husband, Terry; two grandsons, James Brady and Jackson Brady, all of Lexington, SC; brother, Charles Whitaker (Sandra), of Union, SC; and sister-in-law, Margie Whitaker, of Summerville, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Leonora Whitaker Gallman; and two brothers, Robert L. Whitaker and William Frank Whitaker, Jr. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Mary Ann Wilson will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Marcaurelle and Reverend Bill Parnell officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
