IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Eloise
Bagwell
December 22, 1935 – August 20, 2025
Mary Eloise Fleming Bagwell, age 89, of Townville, SC, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Seneca Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born December 22, 1935, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Jack Fleming, Sr. and Myrtle Williams Fleming. She was married to Guy Ellis Bagwell until his death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lynn Bagwell; a son, Jack Bagwell; and brother, Charles Fleming.
Mary was always happy, loved to giggle, and was a consummate jokester. She was able to maintain her sweet personality throughout all of her health challenges. To know Mary was to love her…she never met a stranger and loved to talk. She was a faithful Christian and prayer warrior. She formerly taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was very involved in senior activities and trips. She enjoyed shopping at Hamricks, meals at Mama Penn's, pizza, BBQ, and a sweet treat every now and then. Mary was also an excellent cook and was famous for her fried okra and Italian delight casserole.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Bagwell Cooper (Glenn); son, Keith Bagwell; daughter-in-law, Patricia Bagwell; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 pm at Living Hope Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Robbie Parris and Joshua Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Hope Baptist Church, 7615 Liberty Hwy., Liberty, SC 29657, or the Activities Department of Seneca Health and Rehabilitation Center, 140 Tokeena Rd., Seneca, SC 29678.
