MARY LOUISE BAILEY November 17, 1924 - May 27, 2013 Mary Louise "Weezie" Moore Bailey, age 88, of Country Christian Care Assisted Living of Fair Play, died peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, May 27, 2013, at Rainey Hospice House of Anderson. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Garrett Carlton Moore and the late Pearl Blair Moore. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Morgan Lee Bailey, Jr., to whom she was married for 45 years until his death in 1986. Louise was a weaver at Equinox Mill, a position from which she retired after 20 years employment. She went back to work for Wamsutta Mill where she worked as a weaver for another 20 years. Mrs. Bailey was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and was active in the Encouragers Sunday School Class. Her hobbies included a love of gardening and she enjoyed bird watching, especially the cardinal. Louise cherished dinner time with her family around the kitchen table. Her favorite pastime was shopping on weekends with her daughter, Jan. Surviving is her son, Bruce Lee Bailey and his wife, Karen, of Columbia; a daughter, Jan Elizabeth Gibbs and her husband, Randy, of Seneca; 2 grandchildren, Eric Bruce Bailey of Atlanta and Adam Michael Bailey of Charleston; step grandchildren, Morgan E. Yarborough of Taylors, and Zachary S. Yarborough of Columbia; a brother-in-law, Woodrow Bailey of Anderson; a dear niece, Betty Jo Rice of Anderson, her beloved pet, Sunshine, and a host of loving friends. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Morgan, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by a son Jerry Carlton Lee Bailey; brothers, Douglas Carlton Moore who died at Pearl Harbor, Theron Moore, and Boyd Moore; and a sister infant Ernestine Moore. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mary Louise Bailey will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 2 PM at New Silver Brook Cemetery, with Rev. Tom Turner officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, from 11 AM until 1 PM. The family has suggested that donations in memory of Mrs. Bailey be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
