Obituary

Mary Dean Sutton Black, age 61, of 8 Second Street, La France, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Rainey Hospice House, with her family by her side. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at La France Church of God of Prophecy on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will be at LaFrance Church of God of Prophecy at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Clary officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Clemson. Born on February 1, 1955, in Darlington County, SC, she was the daughter of Mary Virginia Rogers Sutton of LaFrance, and the late Carol Sutton. For forty-four years, Mary was the loving and devoted wife of Thomas E. Black of the home. She was employed for over twenty years at La France Industries/Mount Vernon Mill, and was a member of La France Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to her mother, and her husband, Thomas, Mrs. Black is survived by two sons, Randy Eugene Black of La France and Wayne Thomas Black of Sandy Springs; a daughter, Wanda Kay Burk and her husband, Clarence, of Anderson; two sisters, Millie Swinford of La France, and Carolyn Pilgrim and her husband, J.D., of Six Mile, SC; four grandchildren Ashley Burk, Camron Burk, James Black, and Mason Black. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
