BLACKAugust 29, 1931 - May 22, 2011LaFrance, SC ' Mary Ruth Gray Black, age 79, wife of the late Maxie 'Junior' Ansel Black, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Ellenburg Nursing Center.Born in Oconee County, SC on August 29, 1931 to the late Thomas Gray and Bertie Owens Gray, Mrs. Black worked as an inspector at LaFrance Industries, now Mt. Vernon, for 25 years and was a member of LaFrance Church of God of Prophecy.Survivors include two sons, Thomas E. Black and his wife, Mary of LaFrance, SC and Danny Black and his wife, Darlene of Anderson, SC; two brothers, Tommy Gray of Sandy Springs, SC and Samuel Gray of Fair Play, SC and two sisters, Gail Richey and Jackie Black, both of LaFrance, SC; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Black was predeceased by two sons, Terry Black and Ricky T. Black; a daughter, Carolyn Ruth Black; two sisters, Monteen Arflin and Joan Simpson and one brother, James Gray. The Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens in Clemson with Reverend Michael Clay officiating.
