MARY ELLEN BROWN Mary Ellen Turner Brown, age 76, of 241 Axman Road, passed away at her residence on Friday, November 7, 2014, with her grandchildren and other caregivers at her side. Born on November 19, 1937, in Chelsea, OK, she was the daughter of the late Robert Turner and the late Hattie Mira White Turner. After meeting and marrying her husband, the late Robert Joseph Brown, Jr, she and her husband lived in various places around the country, until the mid-1960's when they moved to Anderson. She was retired from Southern Bell as a telephone operator after 35 years of employment. Survivors include 2 daughters, Cynthia Ann Brown Nedved of Ashville, NC, and L. Suzanne Brown; a grandson, Robert D. Bailey and his wife, Megan, of Anderson, and one great-granddaughter, Ella Bailey, also of Anderson. By her request, Mary is to be cremated and her ashes scattered in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where her husband Robert was placed upon his death in 2001.
