MARY C. "DELLA" BYRUM Mary Cleveland Byrum, age 88, of 438 Morningside Drive, entered eternal rest upon her death on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Fred E. Cleveland and the late Beatrice Sanders Cleveland. For 64 years, she was the loving and devoted wife of George F. Byrum of the residence. Mrs. Byrum was a retired line worker from the Singer Company. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her husband, George, she is survived by a son, Tommy Byrum and his wife, Debbie, of Townville; a daughter, Brenda Bowen and her husband, Whitner, of Anderson; 2 brothers, Albert Cleveland and his wife, Arlene, and Johnny Cleveland, both of Kannapolis, NC; a sister, Sheila Carruth of Hartwell; also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by a son, Aubrey Byrum; a sister, Audry C. Rowland; and 6 brothers, Francis, Jule, Bill, Earl, Jack, and Ray Cleveland. A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Byrum will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at their respective residences, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Contributions in memory of Della may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
