ANDERSON, SCMARY BYRNE CAMPBELL

Mrs. Mary Byrne Campbell, age 95, of 219 Andalusian Trail, died Saturday, April 07, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Coatbridge, Scotland, Mrs. Campbell was a daughter of the late Daniel Byrne and the late Katherine Fitzpatrick Byrne. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late William 'Scotty' Campbell for 29 years until his death in 1972. Mary was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 52 years where she was a faithful member of the church choir. Until her retirement she was an employee of AnMed Heath Center working in the hospital gift shop, during which time she was named 'Employee of the Year.' She did volunteer work at the hospital serving as a Pink Lady, and also was active in her support of Meals on Wheels in Anderson. She loved her family dearly and was completely devoted to them as they were to her.Left to carry on Mrs. Campbell's legacy are two sons, Francis Campbell and his wife Debbie of Easley, SC, and Brian Campbell and his wife Paula of Anderson; two daughters, Sheila Thompson and her husband Stephen of Anderson, and Helen Cox and her husband, Terry of Belton; two sisters, both of whom live in Scotland, Katherine McGregor and Charlotte Byrne. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Heather Thompson, Scott Thompson, Ian Campbell, Ansley C. Holcombe, Kelle C. Martin, Kevin Campbell, Lauren C. Welborn, Halford Campbell, Julie Campbell, Andy Campbell and Bailie Campbell. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Martin G. Campbell. A Funeral Mass Celebrating the life of Mrs. Mary Campbell will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 1 PM, with Father Aubrey McNeil, OFM, Father Bob Menard, and Brother Henry Fulmer, OFM officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family is at the residence, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
