Mary Ann Lee Drake, age 90, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her home. Born February 19, 1931, in Belton, she was a daughter of the late Harry Richard Lee and Mary Alice Boyce Lee. She was married to Guy Edwin Drake until his death in 2004. Mary was a graduate of Girls High and Anderson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She loved bluegrass music, going to bluegrass festivals, and enjoyed traveling. Mary loved her family dearly and especially cherished time spent with her daughters. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia D. Garrett, Dale Ginn, and Christi Fowler; grandchildren, Paul Hunnicutt, Leigh Anne Harmon (Gil), and Rickey Chasteen II; great grandchildren, Cole, Ryleigh, and Ansleigh Chasteen; half-brother, Harry Lee, Jr. (Patricia); half-sisters, Patricia Murphy (Dennis), Peggy Collins, and Deborah Manly; very special friend, Jerry Gambrell; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Lee Drake Chasteen; and sons-in-law, Donnie Garrett and Rick Chasteen. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Chad Campbell officiating. A special thanks is extended to Mary's caregivers, Karen Johnson and Jennifer Mercer as well as Dr. Kumar and the staff at Affinity Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
