MARY WELLS DUNLAPNovember 29, 1920 - September 12, 2006ANDERSON, SC Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wells Dunlap, age 85, of Anderson, passed quietly on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, after a brief illness that followed too closely to the death in July of her husband of 63 years, Milton Fred Dunlap.Mrs. Dunlap, a lifelong resident of Anderson, was the oldest daughter of Walt and Pearl Hanks Wells. Mary was a loyal member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was also employed for many years as Church Secretary. She retired after 15 years from Anderson Memorial Hospital, where in the Office of Administration she was well and warmly remembered. For truly to have known Mary Dunlap was to love her. She made friends in a minute and for a lifetime, and touched hearts honestly and graciously where ever she walked. She is survived by son Jim and daughter-in-law Maureen, son Neil and granddaughter Sarah, sister Betty Hanks, nieces Betsy Hanks Donaldson and Teresa Wells Osborne, and nephew Gene Wells. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers James and Roy and sister Grace.A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2006, at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Paul Cooper.The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.The family will be at the residence.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or to the charity of one's choice.A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.mcdougaldfuneralhome.com.THE MC DOUGALD FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
