Mary Beatrice Padgett Ellington, 85, of Anderson, SC passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Mechanicsville, VA, Born December 28, 1931, in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Oliver Padgett, Sr. and the late Mary Payne Padgett. She was employed by Anderson County School District Four and worked as the manager of the cafeteria at LaFrance Elementary School. She enjoyed gardening and cooking in her spare time. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy A. Ellington Taylor (Thomas) and Julie A. Ellington: brothers, Maxie Padgett, Gary Padgett and Roger Padgett and grandchildren, Lauren Crozier, Carol Taylor and Christina Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, M.C. Ellington; brothers, Jerry, Leon, J.O., Howard and John Padgett and sisters, Hilda Brown and Elaine Mick. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. The family will be at the home.
