Anderson Mary Elizabeth Gibson, age 89, wife of the late James Bryan Gibson, passed away Friday, February 28, 2015, at An-Med Health Medical Center. Born in Ware Shoals, SC, on November 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Inos and Dorothy Karr Hayes. She was a homemaker and a member of Jackson Street Church of God of Prophecy. She is survived by her son, Donnie Ray Gibson of Pendleton; her daughter, Brenda Joyce Gibson of Anderson; her sister, Ioma Burgess of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, James Grady Gibson, Douglas Bryan Gibson, and Terry Wayne Gibson; a half-sister, Helen Price; and a half-brother, Talmadge Hayes. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of her son, Donnie Ray Gibson, 610 Central Rd., Pendleton, SC.
