Mary Madeline Creswell Gillespie, age 91, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Born in Greenwood, SC, on February 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lee Meadows Creswell and the late Euella Wilson Creswell. She was a graduate of Girl's High and worked at K-Mart and also Drs. Wickiser and Canupp. Mary was a member of Homeland Park Baptist Church and the Good Neighbor Sunday School Class. She was a leader at Tolly Street Seniors and a member of The Golden Keys Club. She is survived by her son, Wayne Gillepsie; two grandchildren, Misty Bridges (Shane) and Sgt. Eric Gillespie (Kathy); six great-grandchildren; a God-given daughter, Debbie; and two special care givers, Debra Mack and Sheri Parnell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil B. Gillespie; a son, Benson Gillespie; brothers, Lee Meadows Creswell, Jr. and Marion Creswell; a granddaughter, Starr McClam; and a grandson, Jeffrey Gillespie. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
