GORDON August 8, 1929 - December 14, 2012 Mary Ruth Adams Gordon, age 83, of 408 Auburn Avenue, passed away at the AnMed Health Center on Friday, December 14, 2012. Born in Honea Path, she was the daughter of the late Forest Ray Adams and the late Lillie Mae Fuller Adams. For 49 years, she was the devoted wife of the late Robert L. Gordon until his death in 1996. Mrs. Gordon was a graduate of Girls High School in Anderson, Class of 1945. She was an electronics installer at Lockheed Aircraft in Marietta, GA for many years. Mary was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 daughters, Darleen Gordon of Memphis, TN, and Lisa E. Gordon of Anderson; a sister Pat Pharr of Anderson; 2 grandsons, Ric Allen (Darlene) of Bullhead City, AZ, and Robert C. Hartshorn of Memphis. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances Gordon, a brother, Ernest R. Adams, a grandson, Marcus Hartshorn. A Graveside Service will be held at 3 PM on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Greg Hamman and Rev. Dr. Wendell Bannister officiating. The family will be at the residence of Pat Pharr, 141 Brittania Circle, Anderson, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home Sunday, December 16, 2012, from 7 PM until 9 PM.
