Mary A. Hill Iva, SC Mary A. Wiles Hill, age 95, formerly of Barnes Station Road in Iva, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Exalted Health and Rehab. Born in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Edgar Wiles and the late Essie Campbell Wiles. She retired from the spinning department at Jackson Mills with over 35 years of service. Mary was a life-long member of Union Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was affectionately known as "Mama Hill" and for her love of baking delicious cakes. She is survived by her children, Edna H. Smith and her husband Ray, Gordon Hill and his wife Vicki and Ann H. Simpson and her husband Robert "Butch"; nine grandchildren, Rita S. Metz (Ottman), Ricky Simpson, Guy Simpson (Linda), Sheila Slaton (Charlie), Lisa Smith (Mike), Daniel Hill, Marie Maddox, Troy Simpson (Dell) and Jason Simpson (Jamie); 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William A. "Billy" Hill; three brothers, Clem, Ralph, and Harold Wiles; a sister, Arlene Wiles; a great-grandson, William Dale Simpson; a son-in-law, Grady W. Simpson; and a daughter-in-law, Ruby Nell Hill. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014, at Union Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. with Reverends Mike McMillion and Danny Burnley officiating. Interment will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Iva, SC. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church Building Fund, 703 Barnes Station Road, Iva, SC 29655.
