Anderson Mary Hooper Holcombe, age 85, wife of the late Thomas Robert "Tommy" Holcombe, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at her residence. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Auggie Janette Cox Hooper. She attended Covenant Baptist Church, she worked at the Singer Plant for 33 years, and she worked for the Read a Book and Tobacco Shop for 15 years. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Robert "Bobby" Holcombe, Jr., of Batesburg-Leesville, SC, Wendell Holcombe of Piedmont, SC, and Phillip Holcombe of Anderson; her daughters, Terri Holcombe Stewart of Anderson and Vicki Holcombe Reese of Greenwood, SC; a special friend, Calvin Poore; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 2:30 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Silvey officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
