Mary Evelyn Bearden King, 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at NHC of Anderson. Born June 5, 1933, in Seneca, SC, she was a daughter of the late McKinley Avery Bearden and the late Janie Nix Bearden. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and loved her cats. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and her friend, Alice Rhodes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard King; brothers, Harold Woodfin Bearden and Horace McKinley Bearden and sisters, Janie Mae Bearden Henslee and Isabell Jo Bearden Padgett. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with a service following at 2:00 pm with Rev. Philip Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Return Baptist Church Cemetery, Seneca, SC at 3:30 pm. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Building Fund.
