Mary Dove Kinley, age 87, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born July 9, 1939, in Anderson County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Rev. John B. Dove and Ollie Morris Dove. She was married for over 50 years to Jack Thomas Kinley until his death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Willie Dove, Herman Dove, and Melvin Dove; and sisters, Lorene Wilson, Laura Ellen Allen, Linnie Dove, and Phyllis Dove.

Mary was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a deep love for children and operated a daycare out of her home for 46 years. All the children called her "Mae Mae", a name she cherished. Mary also took over raising her sister Willie Mae when her sister was just 13 years old. After her husband's death, Mary took on a new career working at the Anderson County Courthouse making sure the facility was clean and cared for from top to bottom. She truly loved her time there. She was a faithful member of Centerville Church of God where she had taught Sunday School, volunteered with meal preparation, and served in the visitation ministry. She enjoyed working in her yard and vegetable garden and making her famous fried apple pies for friends and family. Mary will always be remembered for her humility, her desire to help others, her generosity and unconditional love.

She is survived by her son, Bill Kinley and his wife Angela; grandchildren, Bryce Kinley and Jared Kinley; and sisters, Nannie Bell Timmerman, Helen Inez Dove, Johnnie Ann Deitsch, and Willie Mae Smith.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 am at Centerville Church of God. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 am with Rev. Russell Baldwin officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
