MANNINGANDERSON, SCMrs. Mary Louise Johnson Manning, age 87, formerly of the Garden House in Anderson, died Tuesday, July 15 at the Rainey Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Vaughan Manning. Born in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lester E. Johnson and the late Barbara L. Johnson.Mrs. Manning was a homemaker and very instrumental in the operation of the family dairy farm before entering into the business world. As a graduate of Carolina School of Commerce, she worked for Transit Homes and then for Gallant Belk Co., retiring as a bookkeeper after 25 years. She was a faithful member of Ruhamah United Methodist Church, Starr, SC, until the death of her husband; then she transferred her membership to Boulevard Baptist Church. There she sang with the Boulevard Senior Singers, was Secretary of the Sunday School Classes, a member of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class, and volunteered many hours in the church office for more than 10 years. She will be remembered and missed by many friends in these churches.She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Manning Jordan and husband, Kirk Jordan, of Frederick, MD; sons, Bill Manning and wife, Dianne Manning, of Anderson, and Randy Manning and wife, Colleen Manning, of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by a brother, J.W. Johnson of Greenville, SC and two sisters, Dorothy Gentry of Greenville, SC and Beverly Quintana of Greenwood, SC.She will also be remembered as a loving and caring person by her 8 grandchildren and their spouses and 14 great grandchildren: Kelly & Dan Meck, Kyle & Barbara Jordan, Shanon & Neile Manning, Dawn & Westley Harbin, Kendra & Brian Sparks, Casey & Becky Manning, Elizabeth & Michael Shaw, and Emily & Chris Callaway. Great-Grandchildren: Emma, Andrew, & Mathew Meck, Kate, Sara, & Jack Jordan, Seth Manning, Grace & Keyes Harbin, Payton Sparks, Alec & Aylana Shaw, Chase & Evan Callaway.The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 18, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Dr. Johnny F. McKinney. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and one hour before the funeral service on Friday, July 18.Page Two ' Obituary for Mary J.
