Mary Edith Davenport Martin, age 97, of Belton, SC, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born July 8, 1925, in Greenville County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Obidiah Davenport and Ruth Boyce Davenport. She was married to James Albert Martin until his death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Ann Brown; brother, Buddy Davenport; and sisters, Juanita Vaughn and Sarah Belote. Mary enjoyed a long career as a beautician. She loved shopping but loved her family the most. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her grandchildren, Dana Mitchell (Mark) and Nathan Brown (Caroline); great grandchildren, Garrett Mitchell, Meredith Mitchell, Emily Brown, and Natalie Brown; son-in-law, Randal Brown (Shirley); brother, Louie Davenport (Mary); and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. David Cox officiating. The family will speak with guests immediately following the service.
