IRENE MIZE August 22, 1918 - January 3, 2006PENDLETON, SCMrs. Mary Irene Swaney Mize, age 87, of 904 Cherry Street, Pendleton, SC and wife of the late W. C 'Doug' Mize, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Anderson County, SC on August 22, 1918, Mrs. Mize was a daughter of the late Tom Swaney and Ossie Gillespie Swaney. She was the owner of Mize Nursery for more than 20 years. She was a member of Fants Grove Baptist Church and the W.M.U. of the church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by a daughter, Karen 'Kaye' White of Pendleton, SC; three grandchildren, Amanda S. Crain, Hope Lesley, and Billy White and two great-grandchildren, Jakob Crain and Logan Crain.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Jackey Mize; a brother James Swaney; a sister, Christine Clark. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Fants Grove Baptist Church officiated by the Reverends Allen Moore and Ed Bryson.
