Mary Kaylor Painter, age 90, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at NHC Healthcare Anderson.

Born May 13, 1934, in Belton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles Augustus Kaylor and Novella Adams Kaylor. She was married for 50 years to Charles Howard Painter until his death in 2010. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Patrick Haynie, II; and sisters, Olivia Kaylor Ellison and Margie Kaylor Stacey.

Mary was a graduate of Belton High School and Forrest Junior College. Her outgoing personality made for the perfect fragrance model at Belk which she enjoyed for many years. She loved flowers, animals, and the Clemson Tigers. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson where she was active in her Sunday School Class, the GA's and kept children in the nursery as long as her health permitted. Her family will miss her immensely.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Painter Haynie and Elizabeth Painter Capell and her husband Kevin Thomas Capell; and granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Capell and Kayla Madison Capell.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 7, 2024, from noon until 1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Dr. Steve Silvey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
