Mary Ann Catoe Pinson was born in Rock Hill, SC, to her late parents, William Charles and Mary Alice Carnes Catoe, on February 26, 1952. She was raised in Lancaster, SC where she enjoyed golf and ballet.

Mary Ann married Joseph Raymond Pinson, Jr., son of the late Joseph Raymond Pinson and Genevieve Mitchell Pinson of Anderson, SC, on January 5. 1975. They lived in Fort Mill, SC until his death in 2006.

Mary Ann was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 26 and bedridden since the age of 39. She was moved to Anderson, SC, to be cared for by her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Pinson Frey and Kathryn Pinson Gleason and their husbands, and Carolyn's daughters, Shannon Frey Miller and Michelle Alexander.  She is also survived by great-niece, Kathryn Michelle Merriman and great-nephew Joseph Tyler Alexander.

She remained a member of her church in Fort Mill, SC, St. John's United Methodist Church.

Mary Ann passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025, at National Health Care in Anderson, SC, and her family thanks the staff there and of Caris Hospice Care that cared for her the last 3 months of her life.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Kurt Stutler officiating.
