MARY BROCK RAGSDALE January 2, 1922 - October 2, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Mary Brock Ragsdale, age 91, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at NHC of Anderson. She had great faith and comfort in Jesus, her Savior. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Brock and the late Eleanor Ridgeway Brock. Mary was a graduate of Girls High. She retired from Sears Roebuck with over 30 years of service. She was a former volunteer at the Montessori School. Mary was an avid flower gardener and cook, being well known for her fried chicken, macaroni and cheese pie and pecan pie. She was a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church where she served in various groups and ministries as long as her health permitted. Mary was the epitome of a great southern and Christian lady having secure faith and comfort in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her son, Randy Ragsdale and his fianc Karen Paton, of Cleveland, OH; her granddaughters, Lauren Urbizo and her husband Scott and Madison Bennett and their mother, Susan DeHart Bennett; her great-granddaughter, Copelyn Urbizo; her sister, Elizabeth "Lib" Franklin, of Clinton, SC; and her brother-in-law, Aubrey Attaway who gave great care and assistance to Mary during her latter years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin C. Ragsdale, who retired from Wometco Enterprises; a brother, Charles Brock, Jr.; three sisters, Edith Charping, Eugenia Attaway and Cara Attaway. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Marcaurelle officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 6, 2013, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
