SEARS May 1, 1930 - November 19, 2008ANDERSON, SCMrs. Mary Frances Dockins Sears, age 78 of 1202 Bolt Drive, wife of the late Ernest Joseph Sears, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Clinton, SC on May 1, 1930, Mrs. Sears was a daughter of the late Fred Dockins and Mary Lee C. Dockins. She worked for the Anderson County School District Five beginning as secretary to the Business Manager in 1962 and was promoted in 1985 as Director of Purchasing. She was the first woman to hold this post in the State of South Carolina. Mrs. Sears retired in 1995 with over 33 years of service. Mrs. Sears was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church for 47 years where she taught the Boy's Sunday School class. She loved her Lord and her church and was a loyal and supportive member. Survivors include her son, Ernest Joseph (Joey) Sears, Jr., and his wife, Tracy of Honea Path and their daughter, Josey Sears; special caregivers, Dorothy 'Dot' Ballard and Betty Clarke.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Harvey Hughes. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend Tim Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
