MARY LOU SMITH June 29, 1924 - November 9, 2006ANDERSON, SCMrs. Mary Lou Smith, age 82, of Anderson, SC, wife of the late Voyd Lee Smith, died Thursday, November 9, 2006 at National HealthCare in Anderson. Born in Oconee County, SC on June 29, 1924, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Amos Irby Hayes, Sr., and Tommie Lockaby Hayes. She was formerly employed at Belk's Department Store and was a homemaker. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and Central Baptist Church. Survivors include sons, Michael V. Smith and his wife, Karen S. Smith, of Greenville, SC and Tony L. Smith of Anderson, SC; step-daughter, Mary Jo Vickery and her husband, Charles I. Vickery, of Anderson, SC; sister, Ruth Hudgens and her husband, Marvin Hudgens of Anderson, SC and three grandchildren, Scott N. Smith, Ryan L. Smith and Courtney M. Smith.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louie Hayes and Amos Irby Hayes, Jr., and two sisters, Oveline Smith and Louise Hayes.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Mark Hopkins. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Anderson, with Eastern Star Rites.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 12, 2006 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
