Stancil, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Andrews, NC on December 7, 1926, Mrs. Stancil was a daughter of the late Robert and Gussie Lovin Brown. She was a graduate of Andrews High School and the Carolina School of Commerce. Mrs. Stancil was a seamstress at Scott Manufacturing for 19 years and retired as a bookkeeper from Harper Brothers. She was of the Presbyterian Faith.Survivors include her son, Larry Stancil and his wife, Linda of Bozeman, MT; daughter, Mary Dell Stancil and her husband, Donnie Howell of Anderson, SC; sister, Betty Ruth Pierce of Oneill, NE; two grandchildren, Robert Stancil and Lisa Owen; three great-grandchildren, Halton and Gavin Stancil and Jason Owen, and one great-great grandson, Gabe Owen.In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Brian Stancil; two brothers, John and Joe Brown, and three sisters, Katheryn Corley, Kate Cogdile and Neil Hicks.A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 4:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery officiated by the Reverend Wayne Watson.
