Mary D. Stewart Anderson, SC Mary Dunn Stewart, age 92, of 311 Simpson Road, Anderson Place, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014. She was born on September 1, 1922, to Samuel and Alice Dunn in Attalla, Alabama. She was a current member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Anderson, SC and a former long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Rome, GA. She was an avid photographer, winning best in show in her very first competition, an amateur artist, and an individual that never met a stranger. She traveled extensively after her retirement from Owens-Hardware Co. in Rome, GA in 1987, all across the United States and Canada, through the Panama Canal, and her last big adventure was to Homer, Alaska at the age of 85. She is survived by one son, Gene Stewart and his wife Margaret, of Winston-Salem, NC; one daughter, Susan Stewart and her partner Dianne Williams, of Anderson, SC; a grandson, Morgan Stewart and his wife Meghan Jobson, of Charlotte, NC; and one sister, Vera Mikelson, of Ocala, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Eugene Stewart, Sr.; a brother, Ed Dunn; and sisters, Ellen Watts and Essie Hayes. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Rome, GA.
