Devin Pressley Hodges, age 30, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017, while participating in a training exercise in the line of duty. Born in Greenwood, SC, on April 25, 1987, he is the son of his strong and loving mother, Shari Lea Demerest Gambrell of Anderson, SC, and Ronnie L. Hodges of Honea Path, SC. Devin from a young age has had his eyes set on becoming a police officer. After graduating from Westside High School in 2006, he began his law enforcement career as a dispatcher for Anderson County. He then worked for Laurens County, Abbeville County and Lander Police Department, before returning to Anderson County in January 2017. He became a Uniformed Patrol Deputy in 2017, with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, and was recently accepted to The Marine Patrol. He was liked and respected by all of his brothers and sisters in blue, including those who worked with him on Bravo Shift. Above all was Devin's passion for his work, selfless commitment to his family and absolute dedication as a father. Family was everything to Devin. He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Krystal Leanne Kimbrel Hodges, of Hodges, SC; children, Jeffrey William, James Michael, Katie Leanne and Dianna Paige, all of whom were the light of his life; a brother who was like his best friend, Christopher B. Hodges of Anderson, SC; and a sister that looked to him as her hero, Dominique D. Gambrell of Anderson, SC. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Isabella Faith Hodges. The funeral service to honor the life of Master Deputy Hodges will be held at the Anderson Civic Center, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park in Greenwood, SC.
