Elrod, Jr., and Freddie Matthews Elrod. Matt was self-employed and was of a member of First Creek Baptist Church.Survivors include his parents, Elmer & Freddie Elrod, of Iva; girlfriend, Kimberly Smith; three children, Amber Renee Elrod, Matthew Samuel Elrod, Jr., & Gabriel Alexander Elrod; and two sisters, Connie Michele Sanders and Pamela Gidget Bane, both of Anderson.The Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2009, at First Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Donnie Murdock. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Mr. Elrod is at The McDougald Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2009, and will be placed inside of the church at 1:30 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2009.A trust fund has been established for the children of Matt Elrod.
