FOWLER January 22, 1913 - July 7, 2006ANDERSON, SCMrs. Mattie Olivia Watson Fowler, age 93 formerly of E. Whitner Street, wife of the late Martin Luther Fowler, Jr., died Friday, July 07, 2006 at NHC HealthCare in Anderson.Born in Greenville, SC on January 22, 1913, Mrs. Fowler was a daughter of the late Edward Austin Watson and Olivia Elizabeth Bannister Watson. She was retired from Abney Mills and was a member of Toxaway United Methodist Church. She was a Boys Scout Den Mother and a life member of the Anderson County Woman's Club. She was a volunteer at the Anderson Area Medical Center, the Good Neighbor Cupboard and the Haven of Rest Ministries. Other memberships include the Anderson Council of Garden Clubs, Toxaway Women's Club, Toxaway Variety Club, National Corsage Club, Rose Garden Club, Red Sunset Garden Club and the Business and Professional Women's Club.She is survived by a daughter, Linda Fowler Smartt of Charlotte, NC; sister, Betty Watson Adams of Starr, SC; two grandchildren, Sheryl Marinelli and her husband, Steve Marinelli of Charlotte, NC and Janet Olivia Smartt of San Francisco, CA and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Marinelli and his wife, Meredith of Mooresville, NC and Anna Marinelli of Greenville, NC.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Edward and Lewis Watson and sisters, Lillian Embler and Ollie Mae Ramsey.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Kurt Stutler. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 9, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of her sister, Betty Adams, 706 Luke Bouknight Road, Starr, SC.Flowers are optional.
