Mattie Lou Carver Jenkins, age 85, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Rainey Hospice House. Born on July 17, 1930, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Carlton Carver and the late Margie McCurry Carver. For 65 years she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Belton Ford Jenkins until his death in 2010. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Broadway Lake Baptist Church. Her crowning achievement in life, in addition to her relationship with her Lord, was raising six wonderful kids. Survivors include four sons, Jerry Jenkins and his wife, Shirley, Roger "Dinky" Jenkins and his wife, Brenda, Belton Ford "Kippy" Jenkins, Jr. and his wife, Sue, and Keith Jenkins and his wife, Dawn, all of Anderson; two daughters, Sue Ellen Peace and her husband, Calvin, and Connie Roberts and her husband, Brad, all of Anderson; four brothers, Raymond Carver and his wife, Elizabeth, Buddy Carver, Carlton Carver and his wife, Joy, and Tommy Carver and his wife, Ellen, all of Anderson; and one sister, Rosie Jenkins, also of Anderson. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mattie Lou Jenkins will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Early Tucker and Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.
