OBITUARYMAUDE M. DAVIDAugust 2, 1909 - May 3, 2008STARR, SCMrs. Maude Lucendy Mitchell David, age 98 of 639 Martin Road, Starr, SC, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 3, 2008 at her residence.Born in Anderson County on August 2, 1909, Mrs. David was a daughter of the late Thomas Mitchell and Olivia Bailey Mitchell. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Starr Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for over forty years.She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Dean and Linda Shaw and husband, Roger, all of Anderson, and Cornelia Entrekin and husband, Wilton of Starr, SC. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great- grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Julian 'Sonny' David Jr. and her daughter, Ruth Scoggins; granddaughter, Gail Farrow and great-granddaughter, Wanda Hannah; brother, Euell Mitchell and sisters, Namah Pilgrim and Cecil Mitchell.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, officiated by the Reverend Tony Howell. Interment will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Monday, May 5, 2008 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.The family will be at the residence.Flowers will be accepted.
