MAYBELL DAVIS HOLMES January 22, 1920 - November 27, 2006 ANDERSON, SCMrs. Maybell Davis Holmes, age 86 of 211 Braeburn Drive, Anderson, SC, wife of the late M. O. Holmes, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2006 at her residence.Born in Starr, SC on January 22, 1920, Mrs. Holmes was a daughter of the late Clyde Davis and Della Yeargin Davis. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a homemaker. Survivors include daughters, Maydell Brown, Mary Ann Whitten, Claudine Adams, Edna Bailey and Sarah McCullough, all of Anderson, SC; sons, Buddy Holmes, Ray Holmes and Jackie Holmes, all of Anderson, SC; a grandson Ronnie Ethridge, raised in the home; sisters, Frances Wilbanks and Ophelia Gentry, both of Anderson, SC; thirty grandchildren; forty nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Holmes; a son, Fred Holmes; four brothers, J. C. Davis, Daniel Davis, Floyd Davis and Hugh Davis and four sisters, Viola Taylor, Lucille Taylor, Floride Chambers and Ilene Davis.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Ralph Carter.
